For over a century Red Wing Shoes purpose-built footwear has been at the spearhead of innovation in the standard of excellence for work boots. It all started with Charles Beckman in Red Wing, Minnesota. He saw the necessity for shoes for the labor industries. Mining, logging, and farming required shoes and boots that could withstand the rigors of everyday wear and tough enough for the harsh condition in which they’d be worn. Charles wanted to create footwear that was not only functional but comfortable for the hardworking folks that need them. In 1905 he opened a company that would change the footwear market. Naming the company Red Wing Shoes, he created a new standard of excellence.
For over 110 years, Red Wings Shoes have consistently produced high grade footwear. Their work boots and shoes can be found in the Mideast oil fields to Midwest corn fields. Red Wing boots protect the feet of workers in more than 100 countries across the globe.
In 1986 Red Wing Shoes acquired the S.B. Foot Tanning Company (also family owned from around Red Wing, Minnesota) and produce the premium leather that they use today.
Being a Minnesota footwear company, Red Wing knows what you’re looking for in foot protection. From the cold wet winters to hot summers, they have the boot or shoe to keep those feet happy, healthy, and safe.
