Established in 1918 as The Abington Shoe Company in South Boston, the name Timberland came about in 1973 after they made their first pair of waterproof leather boots called the Timberland. Timberland has built its reputation for making outdoor gear suited for anything from casual walking and fashion to snow boots and steel toe work boots. Crafted to be dependable and durable, Bear Shoe Works is proud to be a carrier and distributor of Timberland Pro footwear.

Timberland has taken measures to lessen their impact on the environment. In 2015 1 million pounds of recycled PET and 379 metric tons of recycled rubber were used in their footwear. They also work exclusively with leather companies that are environmentally conscious as well.
